CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Oct. 24, 2008: Several Caribbean entrepreneurs looking to tap into millions spent through diversity supplier programs at major corporations are heading to Las Vegas for the annual National Minority Supplier Development Council conference.
More than 7,000 purchasing executives and, minority business owners are set to descend on the annual conference and business opportunity fair at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning Sunday, October 26th.
`Minority Businesses and Corporations: Playing to Win` is the theme for this year’s conference, which kicks off with a one-day Business Opportunity Fair on Monday, October 27th. The Business Opportunity Fair will feature more than 850 exhibit booths where minority businesses interact with buyers from corporations, government agencies, universities, hospitals and other purchasing institutions in an atmosphere conducive to doing business.
Beginning Tuesday, October 28th, some of the nation’s top practitioners in minority supplier development will lead more than 28 plenary sessions, seminars and workshops on such topics as
trends and issues in purchasing; international growth and competitiveness, with a focus on China; strategic sourcing; access to capital; and return on investment of supplier diversity initiatives. The conference will culminate with an Awards Banquet on Wednesday, October 29th, to honor the Corporation of the Year, Council of the Year, Suppliers of the Year, and Minority Supplier Development Leader of the Year.
