CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, N.Y., Fri. July 11, 2008: Jamaican Asafa Powell, the former world record holder of the 100-m, is in Rome for the AF Golden League and he`s looking to setting a new record.
Powell yesterday indicated that he is looking to break the men`s 4x100 record, which was set by the U.S. in 1992 and equaled by the same team a year later.
`We are going to be doing a lot of work on that because we have the potential to break the world record,` Powell told the IAAF. `We have two of the fastest men in the world and we have other athletes who are running very fast.`
The relay team will include Powell, Nesta Carter, Usain Bolt, who broke Powell`s record in May, and Michael Frater.
